Carrots are good for the eyes as they contain beta-carotene, which is especially necessary for night vision. You can get this nutrition from our Thai dishes!

Below are some health benefits you can get from having carrots in your daily diet:

1. Improves vision

As mentioned earlier, carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which is good for the eyes, because it is converted into Vitamin A, which is later transformed in the retina, to rhodopsin, a purple pigment necessary for night vision. Beta-carotene is also important to protect us from macular degeneration and senile cataracts. People who have the most beta-carotene in their diets are less likely to have macular degeneration compared to those who have less.

2. Prevents cancer

Carrots are also known to be able to reduce the risk of cancer, such as lung cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer. According to medical researchers, carrots contain falcarinol (a natural pesticide produced by the carrot that protects its roots from fungal diseases) and falcarindiol which they believe cause the anticancer properties.

3. Good for the skin

Ladies, you don’t need to spend a fortune on skin products that are usually disappointing. Eat carrots instead! They are, likewise, rich in Vitamin A and contain antioxidants that help protect the skin from sun damage. Carrots provide you all the vitamins you need to treat dryness of the skin, nails and hair. They also help you maintain your youthfulness – consuming them can help you prevent premature wrinkling, skin pigmentation, blemishes and uneven skin tone.

4. Protect teeth and gums

You’ll smile wider when you have carrots in your diet! They can help clean your teeth and mouth. How? Well they basically get rid off plaque and food particles – just like toothbrushes and toothpaste. They also help stimulate lots of saliva and the minerals in them can prevent tooth damage. Amazing, you can kiss bad breath goodbye too!
